Anyone know what it is? The town is about a mile from where the video was taken...but this is Rural Kansas...so sound travels.

Forbid me if I am incorrect on this, but that wail sounded like a Whelen for some odd reason.

EDIT: From 1.40 to 1.56minutes you can hear it again.

The Wind carrying the sound is really mangling what it is. :?

Doesn't sound like a Whelen to me. The cycles are way too long for a Whelen. Given the distance from the siren, I'm thinking that it could either be an STH-10 or a Thunderbeam, but it could also be a 5.

The more I keep listening I believe it is more of an STH-10 then it is a Whelen but it's somewhat hard because of the talking.

That town was off just to the west of me when I was out there. Should have marked it as a town to visit / drive through.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pp2oRPFIVPk - Hear it towards the end of this one. It has that lone wail of a Whelen, but very well could be a STH-10 and the wind morphing the sound.

Another: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CT4_Q1QhBM - This is the one that now has me seriously thinking towards STH-10. Stationary sound. No wind.

It's wind up is quick however and that is what is confusing me. :x
