Votes are in, and the decision was made: systemwide test was recorded on June 2nd 2008 @ 11:45 today.

Civil Defense test 6-2-2008.mp3

My vantage point for that day: Kuliouou Beach Park. The insane 1000T is elusive and is hiding in those palm trees somewhere...
Image

The normal-sounding 1000T, located on top of the bottom of Koko Head. It's in a pretty good spot: it shoots the alert signal pretty far for being 1.8 miles away. I could even see the outline of its horn rotating during the test.

Sirens heard in the order they fire up:
---The insane 1000T - Maunalua Bay. You can even hear the supercharger http://youtube.com/watch?v=v2wsgI3w1CQ
---STL-10 - Niu Valley Shopping Center see last months test for audio of that one(http://airraidsirens.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3856)
---MOD 3012 seen here http://airraidsirens.com/forums/viewtop ... highlight=
---Normal 1000T seen here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=jm2p2AbkcKw

After the sirens finish their 45 second test, the Hahaione valley EOWS 612 (about a mile away from my position) carries on for a good four minutes in the background. It was blasting long enough to freak out a friend who lives a couple hundred feet away from it to call me and ask if it was a real disaster going on. I hope it does that the next time so I can record it 8).

It works now. Great mix of sirens! When I get done with the project I'm working on, I'll listen to it through the headphones.

I don't think I've ever heard a T-bolt going that fast.

There's one in Jackson, MS that's almost that high pitched. See Thegrage58's siren videos on YouTube.

The insanely high pitched Thunderbolt in this recording has the loudest C series blower I've ever heard. The C series blower on the Thunderbolt 1000T at Pope Street here in Louisville can't be heard unless you're standing almost right next to the siren.

The duel tone Modulator in this recording sounds a lot like an EOWS 1212. I actually like it. Does anyone know why Hawaii's Modulators sound so good compared to other Modulators?
