Markleysburg, Pennsylvania. Didn't expect to find something like this!

What even is that? It looks like some sort of Heath or Hedberg siren.
WOW! I think that is a GP3 with horns on it. It is vertical, 5/6, and has that weird contactor thingy on the side.
What is this?

This one's interesting. Looks waaay too small to be one of the aforementioned sirens. My guess is it's something homemade. Looks like it uses a motor on the bottom which drives the choppers on top.

Looks like a Sterling missing the stator shrouds.

Sterling M-10 without horns or stator covers.

It was thought to be a sterling... but it honestly looks too small to be one.

I'm not sure if I agree with it being homemade, the quality of workmanship in this thing looks too good to be a homebrew job unless someone knew what they were doing. Regardless though, it still is a very interesting unit whatever its deal is.

I think it's a GP3 with intake horns.

I am a relatively new siren enthusiast and am trying to get pictures of the old sirens that were in my small town in New Jersey. We're close to New York, so it makes sense that we had sirens installed around the town. I only remember two; one on the roof of the police department and the other in front of my elementary school.
Unfortunately, these sirens have been removed. I believe I remember the one in front of my elementary school being an SD-10, but I have no pictures to verify this. However, there is a picture of the police department with the siren present.
Thing is, I am unsure if it is a Model 5 or 7. Any ideas?

I think it's impossible to tell if it's a 5 or 7 unless you can get close to it. I'm pretty sure the two have the same housing; unless you can get inside of the siren or relatively close, it'll be hard to tell.

Usually when people address this siren, they address it as a "Model 5/7" as it is unknown what model it is due to the abundance of similarities.

It's entirely possible but due to the rarity of Klaxon sirens in America (There probably isn't any) I would classify this as a homemade bench grinder job.
