I would rather hear them playing a mechanical sound than that irritating high pitch tone they normally use.

Agreed, still an ATI however and it will fail over a much shorter time then other warning sirens out there.

Several of San Francisco's ATI's apparently failed during testing because their speaker coils couldn't handle the low pitch of the STL-10 recording.

Lol. I live near SF, never even knew they had an outdoor warning system. Too bad they ditched good 'ole STHs for ATI excuses for sirens.

That STL-10 sample that that ATI is playing may be one of the single phase STL-10's. Is that what one of those is supposed to sound like?
