Siren Testing questions

Tue Aug 08, 2006 4:12 pm

I had a couple questions regarding siren tests.

1. What is the point of a growl test?

2. How does a silent test work?

3. Can an electronic siren growl? (I forgot to ask this earlier)

The point of a test in the form of a growl is to check whether the siren will activate in general; this gives the authorities of the equipment the idea that the siren is working, without having to disturb other people.

silent tests are tests that the electronic equipment make themsleves and send the report to a computer. The eectronic equipment test the coil in the siren driver to make sure it is not blown and will function.
