Lake County, IL Whelen Vortex on I-45

Anyone know if it's active or not? I've been in IL for around 10 years and never heard it go off and I lived not far from it.

I've never been to IL, but I know for sure that there's no I-45 there.

I would assume that it's still in use being a Vortex and all.

I think he means US Rte 45. First of all, what town is it in?

I was on Rte. 45 last month. but I dont recall seeing any wheelens.

I believe it's in Chicago but I'm not sure as at the time I saw it, I wasn't interested in sirens.

That's what I was wondering. Because I-45 is a Texas-only Interstate. It goes from Galveston to Dallas.

I do know there are lots of Whelens in that area, but i dont
ever remember seeing one. I think Mundelein has some Whelens,
not possitive though.

my aunt and uncle used to live in grays lake, very near to highway 45 actually. I do remeber there being whelens in the area.
