2t22 is installed, installation videos added 4/28/09

Tue Apr 07, 2009 9:15 pm

The date is finally upon us, the 2t22 is going to be installed in Rhine on the weekend after Easter. Another town in our county, Milan, has agreed to buy a siren also so they will be getting a P-15 that is currently in WI.

I'm guessing they didn't have sirens before? It's always great to see a town get a siren. Not just because I'm a siren freak, but because every town (espessially those in tornado alley) needs a siren or warning device of some sort.

Rhine's siren was the Clayton Whirlwind, which was damaged beyond repair. Milan had a siren a long time ago but it's been long gone, although the pole for it is still up.

You're going to record the test then, I presume?

Well we dug the hole for the pole this weekend, but it looks like the installation itself is not going to be on the weekend after Easter. My contractor is tied up with other work so we are going to try and do it one day this week or the next. But in the meantime, here are some pics of the damage we caused this weekend.

Haha, the blaze yellow CD helmet is awesome Jeb! Looks like the 2t22 is going to be in a proud spot for all to see downtown, eh?

If find it more like team spirit. Jeb, I'm glad I checked in to see the thread about your installation. I've waited a good amount of time, and it's finally happening. Your great work will be used to save lives, something to be proud of. :)

Good luck,
Joshua
So, apparently, I like Federal Signal...

Oh yeah, it's going to stick out like a sore thumb, especially on that white concrete pole. I've had a million people ask what we were putting there I told them just a streetlight.

Jerry BTW we will be coming back to WI the first weekend in May to pick up the P-15 and a Model 7. We are going to Prairie Du Sac and probably spending the night in Sauk so we can catch the Decot noon test.

Congratulations!
Hope no one runs into your pole.
Will you protect it with smaller guard poles?

Thanks also for the photographs of the 2t22B brushes.
Have always wanted to see that.

Could you also mount a street light on that pole?
Otherwise, why deceive?
