Las Vegas, NV siren hunt; 1 still here, one gone

Tue May 12, 2009 1:34 am

My sister-in-law took me for a ride her new Lamborghini... Notebook & maps in hand, I sneakily turned it into a siren hunt around Las Vegas. We checked on two locations; Vegas Verdes Elementary School at 4000 El Parque, where the Thunderbolt is gone. But the next location; Warren Elementary School at 6451 Brandywine, JACKPOT! Thunderbolt still standing tall & proud. It appears to be still connected, but I couldn't see the blower box or controls. Evidently they're inside a building (locked up). Quite a fun siren hunt, even though only one turned up

Thank GOD! I can see a stick!
Sooooo many people get lambos with the stupid paddle gearboxes. I'd much rather have a conventional stick, or a dog-engagement sequential like a motorcycle. I can upshift clutchless about as fast as an F430 Scuderia.

But I'll bet it was a nice siren hunt, and I'll bet you covered some ground in a short order!

It looks like they painted it the same color as the school buildings. Personally, I'd have painted the school buildings "Federal Safety Yellow" to match the original siren color

Thanks! I'll try to check a few more locations between today & tomorrow. There is/was one at Las Vegas Firehouse #12 per Siren Archives, but I couldn't find a street address in time yesterday.

That is quite a car, but for what she paid for it, I'd rather have an income-producing apartment building  . I'm happy with my '96 Toyota 4x4, or if I really feel the need for style, our big red Chevy 4x4 crew cab will do. I guess I'm a truck man; not so much for high-end sports cars. But don't get me wrong; it's a chance I wouldn't have passed up! Shhhhhh: don't say I said so, but she has 3 Lamborghinis....... Her dad doesn't know about all 3.

Look for a new post later today or tonight in the off-topic forum about a really interesting house that you wouldn't want to be in at night... There are some REALLY NORMAL looking houses in nice neighborhoods of Las Vegas, with some very strange things about them. The Mafia "owned" the gambling industry for a long time, and there are some very scary things still around from when they ran things "their way"...

I thought Las Vegas' Thunderbolts weren't used anymore.

Here's a photo of that one on The Siren Archive, and it looks like a different position than the photos you took.
