I think that is what made Shawnee County want to upgrade their entire system. Atleast they arn't replacing the sirens too.

From what I gather from this article, Milwaukee County E.G. will still be responsible for activating the sirens, but they might only activate sirens for the directly affected areas.

Do you think they are going to upgrade the Compulert system or will they totally replace the Compulert system. It will be interesting to see which sirens sound, based off of where the warning is.

Thanks for posting the link.

It shouldn't affect the compulert since they using ASC parts. They are basically upgrading to the latest version.

I didn't know there was a siren at Summerfest. I think that's the only Federal Signal siren on the system. I tried looking for it on Google Maps, but it's like looking for a needle in a haystack.

As far as other sirens in the county, here's what I found:

Code: Select all

Model - Quantity Alertronic (6000?) - 1 Allertor 125 - 10 Hurricane 130 MK II - 1 P-10 or P-15 - 7 P-50 - 18 T-128 - 7 T-135-AC/DC - 1 Total found: 45 Could not find: 8

Also Noted Was when The warning went out they did not active any sirens for about 8 minutes. Which leaves me to believe they were trying to only active them on the south side and could not get the system to do that than they set all off
