Why do early Mods have a different tone ratio?

Yeah. I saw a video on YouTube of a tornado siren in Oklahoma (it was a MOD6012) and it did not sound a minor third. I found it odd that the higher tone was higher-pitched. Was this an intentional thing or something to do with age? If it was age, what would cause it?
I know that's a lot to process, but I tried to summarize everything in one post.

I think I saw that video. Moore installed their mods in 2001, so they shouldn't be that old. They sound in a major 3rd for some reason. Maybe Moore ordered a different sound card or something?

That could be it... But someone said that it was from age.
I wonder what could cause the sound card to corrupt in such a way that the tones would change?
BTW, here's a synth of the different-sounding Mod...

Don't get me wrong, but those seems to be basic computer generated tones with an echo. Am I mistaken? Sounds too fake to be real...

I did say it was a synth.

The tone on the Ultravoice controller can be adjusted, so that might be your reason.

I think that was an MCP tone thing. Moore's Modulators, at least most of them, use the MCP control. Irving, TX had the MCP controls on their SiraTone 612s and their dual tone alert sounded the exact same tone ratio as the Moore, OK Modulators.

This is actually a good question!
It stands for Modulator Control--Power Plus. It was the direct predecessor to the UltraVoice as Federal's electronic siren controller.
See if this works:

I suspect there was a Modulator Control that directly preceded that (there was an image of a Modulator controller opened in Hawaii that looked more like a newer SiraTone controller than the MCP--which is very similar to the UltraVoice in appearance), but that's more of an educated guess on my part.

Modulators never used any EOWS* controllers, did they?
