I was looking at a school in Delaware and came across a tower that had 3 sirens and 1 bell on it right next to the firehouse.

Also this tower used to hold a Chrysler siren. They like sirens I guess

That's weird. Whenever I have dreams that feature sirens, it's usually stuff like this.

A Mars siren, an STL-10, and what looks like an upright HOR, plus a bell. What would you bet that the residents of the building in the background have forced them all into silence?

It is not an upright HOR. It is a Fedelcode.

Forced into silence at least 8 years ago, the only siren that was active on the tower was the Mars siren on the top. Way, way back in the day there was a recording of this siren and it was refered to as "The Screaming Mailbox". As was pointed out, there was a Chrysler up there a long time ago as well.

Next time I'm in Delaware, I'll look out for it. I found two sirens in Sussex County when there this summer. Saw a Model 5/7 on a old pole with a plant close to covering it, and Millsboro Fire Department's newer STH-10.

Shame they are silenced. Perhaps someone would like to save them? Well, if not, I hope they don't do the usual... scrap 'em.

Thanks for sharing!

Also, nice catch with the mars. If I (by a far, yet close shot) get a camcorder for Christmas (Yes, it's awhile away, but I want to keep my heart set so they know...) I'll try to get a recording in. If not, well no problem. Anyone know the test times of the MARS siren, and anyone willing to get a good video out of it?

Cheers,
Joshua
