Some UK siren pictures

These sirens are all near the east coast of England where there are around 150 flood warning sirens. Here are three of the more interesting ones.

This one is on the town hall in King's Lynn, Norfolk. It might not be clear from the picture but it appears to be almost brand new. It really doesn't look like a very good place to mount the siren but I suppose they wanted it to be fairly discreet.

This on is in the Burnham-on-Crouch clock tower in Essex. Again, I wouldn't have thought this was a very effective location.

Does anyone know what type of siren this is? It's on a building called Sessions House in Spalding, Lincolnshire.

There are a few more new pictures in my PhotoBucket album.

I don't know about the one in Lincs. but it looks like a single-tone siren.

To me, it looks like a Castle Castings siren with a cover plate over the motor?

Dan.

Dan, you're probably right. I've never seen a cover like that anywhere else. I wanted a closer shot but unfortunately, that was about the closest I could get.

Could that cover be for a heating system for the motor?

Great pictures, Andrew.
