I was able to get a light coat of primer on both of the rotator bet guards.
Ive been pondering on how to add a thottle solenoid to the siren. I needed a coil that was both strong and durable. I thought initially about a Cummins fuel shutoff solenoid, but the dual pull/holding coils add complexity.
I was then working on a older genie articulated manlift with a older Deutz oil cooled motor. That's where I noticed the thottle up solenoid! Two wires, made to do what I want it to do. Ordered a Chinese clone of the original Woodward one I spotted. This will be only half the battle, as I know need to figure out if I can mount the solenoid underneath theengine house, or have it somewhere outside
At this point I think I will have it remotely mounted outside, possibly close to battery box. I will then custom machine an adapter bung to mount a bicycle cable in the original pull thottles hole. We'll see hownit is once I get the solenoid.
I came down with a terrible sinus infection this week, and have barely made it work the past week, much less get out to the shop. I now have some good antibiotics, and hope to be on the mend soon. It's hard not to be my normal motivated self.
