Unitrol invented the garbage! They turned the Phaser (Hyperyelp) into a telephone ringing! And made Hi-Lo a crazy half volume fluttery hi-lo.
Q2B or not 2B that is the question.

My beloved Unitrol?
No.

What do you mean: "telephone ring"?

Their Hi-Lo is half volume and fluttery?

But what do I know? I only do Wail.

Well, you'll be happy to learn that I paid my debt and annoyed people with Yelp.
Also Hi-Lo. (But no Air Horn. That is rude.)
It is recorded on our dashcam (JVC 20gig Hard drive camcorder) but I don't know how to get it on ***(I've been asked not to use this word before so there is now an automatic replacement censor)***.
Presume it would take forever on this dial-up.

this crap: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYqgBITv_DA

The wail and yelp are, in my opinion, the best ever! The other crap is a waist of electronics. Well, I guess it's good for parades!

And, I stand corrected. By myself too! I found a pic on ebay of a Q siren for sale and found the brake to be mounted in the same location as my model 78.

By the way, I'm about to shoot the video and I'll post it. I love this thing!

When the new wares off, I'll have to purchase a Q2B!!!

Thanks for the link, Q

What garbage.
If I heard that and had a collision with the EV, I'd sue them for not sounding a siren.

In California, Wail and Yelp are permitted.
Even Hi-Lo is not recognized as an allowable siren sound by itself.
Can't imagine any of those others are allowed.

Guess the flutter in the steady Hi-Lo tones makes it stand out from music.
It is an F# - C (musical "tritone") Ours sound an E - C (major third)
It sounds the same dB output from what I could discern.

We have the older 800 and 480k sirens.

Those are my favorite electronic vehicle sirens!! Nice tone! Great frequency range, and a demanding yelp. I like them a bunch!
