I was wondering what sirens have the best voice message distance. I have heard a Modulator 6024 voice message from three miles away on clear day and I have heard the voice message in severe weather two miles away. so I wondering which siren has the best voice distance

Do you mean which voice-capable sirens are loudest?

As far as I am aware, the loudest voice-capable electronic sirens produced were the Whelen WPS-4008 (130dBc @ 100ft) and the Federal Signal SiraTone EOWS*812 (132dBc @ 100ft). Both are now discontinued.

I believe that the Whelen WPS2910 is the loudest electronic siren available today. It is rated at 129dBc @ 100ft, with an estimated 70dB range of 6100 feet. The WPS4004 is also rated at 129dBc @ 100ft, with an estimated 70dB range of 6000 feet.

The ASC i-Force STi-4000 is rated at 128dB @ 100ft. I can't find a 70dB range estimate for the i-Force STi-4000, but the less powerful STi-3200 is rated at 126dB @ 100ft with an estimated 70dB range of one radial mile (5280 feet).

For comparison, the Federal Signal Modulator 6024 that you mention is rated at 121dBc @ 100ft, with a 70dBc range of 3400 feet. The more powerful Modulator 6048 is rated at 125dBc @ 100ft, with a 70dBc range of 4500 feet.

If you mean which sirens offer the clearest voice announcements, then the ASC i-Force would probably be the best, as it is marketed on its speech intelligibility. Quote: "Un-Matched Speech Intelligibility Meets MIL. UFC4-021-01 Rev. 1".

I hope that this helps.

Regards,
Jerry.

^Eh, I'd say ATI has the best voice intelligability, since they're actually intended to just be notification speakers rather than sirens.

To the OP, I'd guess that the 2910 and 4004 probably have the loudest voice if their warning tones are also the loudest.

We have a system of Modulators and DSA's on the AFB where I work, and they are really crappy. I've been in several locations on base during storms and the voice announcements sound like murmuring toads.

In clear weather it's perfect, but add wind and other background noise and you can't understand anything.

Would that be because your website sells hormann products?

The Hormann America lookalike sirens you sell on your early warning systems website.

Is your encoder/control station made by Genave? It looks very similar to their encoder.

Alerting Solutions, Inc (formerly Hormann America) currently sells an electronic siren using the same horn assembly as the ASC E-Class and the ATI SoundBlaster.

However, H?rmann GmbH does indeed sell that type of 'default Euro' electronic siren. That type of siren is sold by H?rmann, Klaxon Signals and Telegrafia that I know of. There may well be more companies that also sell this type.

Judging from the pictures and specs listed on the Early Warning Sys. web site, it would appear that they also sell this type of siren.

Jerry.
