Happy 10'th birthday Siren Board!

Sat Oct 30, 2010 1:46 pm

It was 10 years ago in 2000 I created the first siren board on warningsirens.org. Matt Dean was the first person to post on the forum and one of the earliest posts was someone thinking a 3T22 was a Thunderbolt because it had a Thunderbolt decal on the control cabinet.

Here's to another 10 more years!

Blows me away it's been 10 years already. I still remember my 1st post, asking if there was ever a single toned T-bolt.

Also for the "old timers" remember those "mystery Whelens that look like DSAs" I would mention and that oddball "3T22" with every other top row horn facing downward which we though was how a 3T22 was suspose to look?. I still have that pic stashed away on my old PC.

I could go on and on, but I think I'll stop, and let some of the other "old timers" chime in if they desire to

Also another little tidbit, I'll have my 2T for 10 years this coming April, and I still haven't tested it on 220VAC  (yes, I've tested it many times on 110VAC)

Here's to 10 years, and to 10 more

BTW on a side note, when are we going to hear those old classic recordings? Not trying to rush, but I'm itching to hear them again.
Proud owner of a 2T, 5, M-5, 1000 Head, 7T, 3T22, and a single toned 2

I remember the old warningsirens.org board, just never joined! I still can recall not knowing anything about HLS sirens, and once we got some German guys on here it was found to be unlike anything we'd ever seen before! I still remember the pre YouTube days of waiting forever just to hear a recording, and videos were practically exotic! I seem to recall owning a t-bolt was pretty rare, now it seems almost everyone has one!

Glad to be part of the board, and only for 1/2 it's life. I joined a while before the "new" AirRaidSirens.com board was put up; '05-ish?

Thanks to both Adams S & P, and all the rest of the people who are making it what it is!!!!!

Indeed, Happy Birthday to The Siren Board! I hope that it will continue for many more years to come.

Jason, if I remember correctly, it was mentioned that you might upload the recordings from the Siren Contest as part of the anniversary celebrations? Is that still the plan?

Regards,
Jerry.

Wow! I have only known the Siren board for about a year now (My earlier times here I would rather not speak of. )

Its amazing how little most of us knew about sirens and now we know so much.

Happy 10th anniversary.

It's gonna be my sixth year this November, yet it seems much longer than that. I can only imagine how long it seems to some of the old-timers! It amazes me how such a not-so-well-known subject of interest has drawn in so many people. Here's to another decade and more following!
