Just wondering how many different companies re-tagged the Federal Model A, or if the A was even the original?
So far I've seen 3 that look identical:
Darley
Federal
Faraday
What else is out there? also- How?? Was there no patent?

Sterling made a wierd version of one, that I believed used the same rotor and stator.
I also believe Simplex and Edwards does to.

IBM also had a version of it that was commonly used as school fire alarms in the 1950's. These schools often had bells and master clocks by IBM.

I think the Sterling was the Sterling F. I saw a really old beaten up one on eBay for $10 forever ago...it's basically a squared-off version of the Model A, less round horn.

There was also that Australian look-alike siren called the Wailing Joe.

Aren't those old Universal Security Instruments sirens you see all over eBay basically Federal As?
