Wikipedia's article on the T-Bolt

Wed Nov 29, 2006 2:27 am

I never knew this existed, and I've never seen it mentioned here, but by accident I came across an article on Wikipedia about the T-Bolt, including its history, cities that use this siren, etc. Complete with a color picture of the beloved beast! :D Very cool!

Here's the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thunderbolt_Siren

According to them, my home town used to have a few running, untill they were replaced.

Des Moines, IA Replaced in late 1990s with ASC T-128s and FS 2001DC sirens.
I can't hear you! *air raid siren sounding* Ok I can hear you now.

Wed Nov 29, 2006 8:53 pm

Wow , was that cool !, :)

Too bad the CD Decal on the roter gear box
was all fade-ed on the first picture , wish I had a better picture to
submit & replace with a less rusty T-bolt
