Re: Chopper level 21638623468 Thunderbolt 1000 (NOT MY VIDEO)

If I recall correctly the story behind this siren is the chopper motor died at one point and was repaired with the wrong part. Either the armature or field was replaced with one from a 120V Model 2. As a result the motor was getting way more voltage than it needed, and that combined with the reverse...

Re: Eclasses replaced

Oak Lawn Illinois just completed a full replacement of the siren system. 6 new 2001-130’s replaced the 7 Eclasses. 5 new sirens are on existing poles. 1 was moved 20 or so feet to accommodate a cell tower. The only speaker array not directly replaced is the one on the roof of the village hall. That...

12/4/24 Alabama Trip Recordings

I met up with some other enthusiasts in Alabama to record sirens in the Montgomery area for the first Wednesday of the month. This area in Alabama is pretty neat in that multiple counties test at different times, and since a lot of the sirens are in driving distance in between each other for the fir...

9 Port HOR Siro-Drone 120V Test + 240V Blast

Post about this siren: https://www.airraidsirens.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=30784 Here is the video I took of this siren running. The first part of the video is of the siren running on 120V. It only gets up to half speed which isn't quite fast enough to disengage the brushes to let the siren run on ...

HOR Siro-Drone Identification

Since I know not everyone here is on the Facebook group, I figured I'd post this here for everyone to see. I recently acquired a Siro-Drone from a guy up in New Jersey. I initially mistook it for a Fedelcode Mach 1 given the similarities between it and the siren in Botkins, OH, mainly because it was...

Re: 2001 vs 508

The 130 is still around because it is a good all-around siren that meets the basic requirements of most systems. It's able to compete price-wise with other mile-range sirens and has a *rated* SPL advantage over everything else on the market at 130 dBc at 100 feet. The Equinox is a lower-cost option ...

First Wednesday Tests in Montgomery, AL (June + July)

I took these videos a while back and forgot to share them here. Back in June, after I rerecorded the T-128 with CoVID in Notasulga, the group of enthusiasts and I went to Montgomery County and recorded a couple of Whelens in their system. I'm not sure if any of them are on here, but three of them an...

Whelen WPS-2810 Goes Rouge, Runs Full Alert

I'm sure most people who have been on the board for a while have seen some of my previous posts from the system here in Columbus, GA. Every once in a while some of our sirens will go rouge due to the way the RTUs, Motorola ACE3600s, are configured with the controllers. This mainly occurs when a sire...

Re: UK FS 2001-130 test!

Good day folks, Today at 4:30 PM, the piercing sound of a Federal Signal 2001 echoed across Carrington Business Park in Manchester. Turns out, it does so every Thursday! Thanks a lot to TG Technologies and HM SirensAndFireAlarms for notifying me of this test! https://youtu.be/xPcnnM37x3w I wonder w...
