Sorry for the bump, it's more of a rebrand, not a knockoff. Sterling accually produced these before the model M was introduced in the late 1910s
Do you have anything to actually back up that claim?

Re: Trying to get a grifco siren any advice ?

Moved to the main forum. This is more of an advice post than it is a wanted post. I feel like this is the better place for it.

Re: UPS vs rectifier

First things first, let's not confuse what a UPS is. You can only say a siren has a UPS if it's mainly powered by AC with a rectifier but has battery backup. If the siren is battery powered only, it's not a UPS. This is more or less why no one calls it a UPS in the industry and instead opts to call ...

Re: 2001 vs 508

True, but for asc in particular, all their mechanical sirens are around the same frequency. Yes, they have different sizes with different sound levels, but essentially sound the same. Asc really doesn’t have a 2001 equivalent. The tempest series is more akin to the 508. It doesn't really matter. AS...

Re: 2001 vs 508

Volume ≠ effective siren. You have to keep in mind that the frequency output of the siren is heavily manipulated by the environment the siren is subjected to. The 508 isn't effective in certain environments just like the 2001 isn't effective in certain others where the 508 or Equinox may excel. Fede...

Re: Marion IL EOWS-408s

Man I haven't dove into this in years. Anyway, from what I gathered in newspaper articles way back in 2019, Marion had about six 408s in their system. I did manage to find the rough locations of them all, but any evidence of their existence is basically gone. One of my good friends managed to find t...

Re: Port Aransas CD Siren System

I'm not so sure that was a 612. If you look at the streetview shots at that location, you can see a baseplate progressively rot away over time. It looks like there's a cutout in the center of the baseplate which honestly leads me to believe it was a 2001, because 612s don't have any cutouts in the p...

Re: ARS Wiki updated!

Do keep in mind that the wiki is still very much under construction. While content from CDS has been ported over, the content needs to be reviewed and compared with the original ARS content and then all pages be updated using both sets of data so the pages can be as informative and accurate as possi...

Re: Decals

Hey everyone, I've recently regained my interest in sirens and warning systems and was looking to buy some sirens. A question i've had since I had regained my interest was: how do you find decals to put on the siren? For example: how would you get a FS Thunderbolt siren sticker for the rotator, blo...
