some sort of Denver siren

Fri Feb 21, 2025 5:15 pm

It looks like one, but I don't think it is. What is it?

That has to be a Denver. It looks like it has a different motor though.
I'm a siren enthusiast but I also collect electric fans. I’m working on a map for sirens in NE and hope to post it here someday

Now I have 8 small sirens, and 58 electric fans :D :D

This has been on the board before, it's actually a Sterling knockoff of a Quadruplex. If you look closely, the motor has two shafts, which makes people believe that there used to be another choppers assembly on the other side!

I'm probably the go-to person to learn about my city's siren history.

I just confirmed that is Sterling's ripoff of a Denver Duplex.

Sorry for the bump, it's more of a rebrand, not a knockoff. Sterling accually produced these before the model M was introduced in the late 1910s

Do you have anything to actually back up that claim?
My knowledge excels on the Federal Thunderbolt siren and SiraTone EOWS sirens. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

He probably read it off the CD Sirens wiki, or the current ARS wiki.

Sterling, known as Interstate Machine Products at the time, began producing these in 1916. Heavily based off the Denver Siren, They were discontinued by the end of 1918 and replaced entire by the model M by 1920.
