So what if there was a such thing as an automated activation system? Say that there were various parameters monitored like wind speed, humidity levels, temperature differences, and NWS data and that was all compiled by a computer. If certain parameters were met, it would automatically activate a war...

The Whelen 4008 is the loudest electronic siren ever produced. 130 dB with expected 70 db range out to 6400 ft. That should wake you up.

Hmm... Sounds like they are setting themselves up to get sued under a Federal requirement (SARA Title III) that requires local governments to have in place some means of notifying the public. Hopefully no one ever gets hurt and it doesn't happen, but I'm sure they have many other ongoing maintenance...

I just listened to it too. It was sad the way they treated him. It's an unusual situation the EM was placed in, and he had to go to the commission for approval. They could have treated him alot more professionally. What would be really funny is watching any of the commissioners do his EM job.
