I honestly don't know but I hope not. Hopefully if it isn't, they will just rebuild it and re-install it somewhere else.

I now have a couple of pictures of the new Sentry 7V8 ontop of the Post office. Hopefully, someday I can get a recording of this bad boy in operation! Please excuse the picture quality, and I'll try to get some better pictures soon. http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/xx124/KyT-BOLT1000/143_0149edit....

Harrodsburg post office 3T22A replacement installed!

I have yet again another update on Mercer County's sirens. Today while traveling through Harrodsburg, I happened to notice something on the stand where the former post office 3T22A (struck by lightning last August) originally stood. And sure enough it looked like the FD had finally installed the sir...

At least if it does get replaced, it'll be replaced by a good siren instead of the usual "replace an old broken Federal siren with a 2001" routine. Yeah, I would hate to see that happen. I personally don't mind 2001s as long they're installed in a location with no siren coverage. Plus, it...

Not so pleasent Mercer County, Ky siren update

Due to recently being struck by lightning, the 3t22A on top of the Harrodsburg post office on Main St. has been taken down and will be replaced. It's fait is uncertain however. Hopefully it will be repaired and placed in a part of the county that does not have siren coverage. Or, just like Louisvill...

I know of a few...In Harrodsburg, Ky there are 3 3T22s, two Sentry sirens, and a Thunderbolt 1003. In the small community of Salvisa, there is a 2t22 and right beside it is what I think a Federal dual head. In Danville, there are mostly Whelen Vortexes however, there is at least one 2t22 that I know...

Oh ok. Sorry, I didn't even think to look if it has already been discussed before.

What kind of siren is this?

I have been wondering for quite some time now. Judging by sound, does anybody know what kind of siren this is? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZ7LYbkL2eI

The thunderbolt looks really high. Is it on a pole or on a building? Well you have to consider it looks like that behind the diesel there is a hill so that might something to do with. And there is also the fact that just sometimes cities just want their siren(s) mounted high like that. But it looks...
