Re: Stewart County, GA: Omaha's New 7V8-B

Gorgeous! So Sentry's mount brackets are basically a one-size-fits-all kind of thing that you shim to fit?

Re: Studying And Inspecting Some Decot Sirens.

That angled, double-headed chopper design is absolutely gorgeous, and the bright red.. wow! I wonder as to how much of an output gain you'd get by ridding the siren of the external "wicker."

Re: Chinese Chrysler

I think the Victory siren was made under the partnership of Chrysler and American Blower, where Chrysler provided the V8s for Am Blower's siren heads.

I'm pretty sure the recording in the promo video was ripped from Dave Stall's old site.

Re: Two sirens Elektror L1 and E57 run together

I remember back when I lived in Hemau, Germany, as a kid we had a close-knit system of E57 sirens with no more than a mile separating each, the closest one to our home being a little over a hundred yards from us. Anyway, it was common to hear one siren in the village sound off at a time. As a youngi...

Re: The Rather Extensive Modern Sentry Lineup

Well, considering Sentry's tendency to form horns, skirts, housings and mount brackets from sheet metal rather than investing in molded castings -save for maybe the choppers and stators, some of which still probably carry over between models- their manufacturing methods probably aren't as technicall...

Immediately left of the poster's bare username or avatar is a small picture of a quotation mark: click it and it will copy the chosen post and reference it in its own text window as part of your reply. As for the Heath siren, what a beauty! The ...

Re: ACA Screamer 105

Funny, an oversized rain-cap and screen just for the fan-cooled motor; how it lags in contrast with Sentry's tight, sleek outer covers.

Re: Touring A Red Arrow Siren.

The production Red Arrows' volume rating goes anywhere between 120 and 128 decibels at 100 feet depending on size and number of blades, very impressive for such small sirens.
Wow, that's nuts!! The Decots never went beyond fifteen horsepower, did they?

Re: Second-interval siren in Portugal

I really dig that close ratio, it definitely ranks up there on the scale of creepiness.

Re: Dual Tone Sirens.

Wow, I didn't know the choice of tones was the subject of such strict regulation; I thought it was simply a matter of applying dual-tone sirens as a means to distinguish the single-tone fire-sirens of the day apart from a terror warning. I'm surprised manufacturers didn't experiment with more oddbal...
