Here is something you guys can probably both agree on. Detroit is truly a city government that has no idea in what the left hand is doing from the right. Detroit's core problem is no one is in charge of much of anything.

Detroit is incapable of even keeping the traffic and street lights functioning consistant basis muchless a system of sirens. I would guess if one asked Bing (Mayor) or the City Council they couldn't even tell you how many Fire Stations and Police Precints that are still open, and without a doubt couldn't tell one where the sirens are located in the city and if they work.

When I orignally stated that Detroit started testing again, you were quick to shoot that down only to find out that they actually did. Me knowing Detroit, they probably don't even know all of it's sirens. They have old lists. Maybe the direction that I thought isn't correct; I wasn't very sure. I just know that that dual toned Thunderbolt is somewhere in Detroit. If not, I would have heard it before Detroit decided to turn it's sirens back on.
The list I have is the current location list for NEW and OLD.
I get 90% of my behind the scenes system information from WSS who did all the site survey's using the list I have. The list was given to me by WSS not the City. I have been to every siren location in the city more than 5 times. I know there are no other sirens around your families place other than the ones on the list. Until you provide an closer recording with less interference or a recording from that supposed siren location then all you are doing is guessing cause you think you hear something your mind is convinced is there.

Incorrect. There is one person in charge of the sirens at the emergency management office. And there are alot of folks in charge of alot of things. Budget is the problem for getting things done.

No what he or she said was correct. There are no true leaders in Detroit. Everything is scrambled and unorganized. The reason for the budget issue is the lack of good, organized leadership.

One may very well be incharge of a department but all things run thru disfuntional City Council and Mayor's Office. Detroit is one of those places where the Parks Dept would get new lawnmowers and it would take the City Council months to years to appropriate money to buy gas to run them only if the gas comes form another federal grant. I'll agree with the budget stuff but I will challenge you to survey all the City Council members and the Mayor and I would bet either one couldn't tell you without asking the Fire Chief how many Fire Stations are open much less any competent thoughts about what the siren system of the city is made up of.

What is your problem? You think just because you don't hear something that it doesn't exist. You don't know everything. I swear you are one of the most irritating people on this board. Background noises will not make a siren sound dual toned, and in this case, won't make it sound like a rotating dual toned siren. I thought that Detroit didn't have any dual toned Thunderbolts from my research, but based on my last two recordings there is a dual toned Thunderbolt. So you can't say that I hear something that my mind has convinced me is there. Since you are so sure of yourself, go out next month in that area and record. Things change and some people find out before others. Oh, ad a nother thing; where do you think WSS get their lists from? You think they just pull it from their behinds? Obviously they have to get something from the city in order to have a list, which all leads back to Detroit being highly incompetant about its sirens.

No. I'm being serious.

Edit: I may say, I have my point of view, and Detroit just needs to be demolished and rebuilt from the ground up. The place is nothing but a slum. The government is dysfunctional, but I will not be bickering or debating my point of view. But it's annoying seeing a little fight on the forums that no one really cares about.

This isn't your thread, so you should try to butt out. But thanks for trying to keep the board on track. I really appreciate that.
