EWA BEACH, Hawaii- The City Department of Emergency Management in conjunction with Hawaii State Civil Defense tested an outdoor warning siren on Friday, November 18, 2011. The siren is located at:
Ewa Beach Shopping Center from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. The actual test began at about 9:30 AM.

The test is being conducted to ensure that the siren is operating at full power and providing optimal audible range.
Residents and businesses in the surrounding communities may hear the steady or warbling siren tone during the test and should not be alarmed.

Hawaii State Civil Defense funds the purchase and installation of these sirens. Once they are installed, they are released to the City for monthly testing and emergency activation.

Interesting that they tested the rotator and blower first. When I saw the head rotating, it reminded me of Matt's recording of the Whelens at Turkey Point.

Awesome video! It sounds just like my Thunderbolt did before the blower and rotator went kaput. Brings back memories.
