We went to the siren for the monthly recording. The power wire is hooked up but the disconnect is off and locked. The comunication wire is just hanging so no test this month. Will try again next month.

Eight ports seems to be the best number, giving you around 520 Hz, which is not too high to let air absorption take its toll, nor too low to have ground impedance reduce its range. Different materials soak up different pitches and the eight-port rotor seems to be in that perfect middle spot.

On the second link on the very first page, you'll note that Amarillo is claiming 500 Hz on the units.

I'm thinking that its pitch will probably be within the 520-560 HZ range. What I'm curious to see is whether it has a deeper tambor than the similarly pitched T-128. If it does, then it could be heard at further distances than a T-128, since the fundamental frequency would be louder.

They got one in so they could modify their trailer to fit.
They did say that some where getting installed in Tenn.
