I just moved to Chinook, Montana....and I found this not but 10 minutes from my house:





First image is when I was first visiting here, so I didn't get to investigate it. The second image I caught pulling into the lot where it's at; didn't have a chance to get up-close at the time. I plan to find out why it's just sitting there--very excited to have this so close by and it'd be great if they used it as the towns siren....or if I could own it

Wow! That's one heck of a find. I can't go round' my neighborhood and find Mobil Directos lying around...Lol.

Please save that Mobil Directo from the scrap pile! It is in WAY too good of shape to see anything that despicable!!!

Not sure if you're interested in having your own siren or not (it's a fun toy to have) but if you are, you should try to get it! If not, I'm sure another board member would go scoop it up!

I still am in the process; unfortunately I don't have my own car, so I'm dependent on my parents for a ride =/ or I'd have gone down there myself and this would've been figured out by now. I have people interested in taking it off my hands....as much as I'd love to own it, we are renting this place. If we suddenly have to move, then it's the next tennants deal. I'm not even sure if the owners of that place will let me have it, so HOPEFULLY I will get down there sooner or later to figure this out; it's an awesome siren and a shame it's just sitting there

Considering that looks like a scrapyard, I highly doubt they will give that away for free. It shouldn't cost much though.

Obviously I think any of us would love it if someone with an awesome siren just gave it to us lol, but yes, sell it would be their option no doubt. Took another look at the property, noone was at it again, and the gate was closed, or I'd have gotten a closer look. It doesn't look like it's going anywhere but that could jinx it I'll keep you all on the update
