The 2910 that replaced a 2910 that replaced a 3016 at McClure Park has been replaced by a 4004. Everybody got that?

Sorry top bring up a stale topic - but I found three new 2910 locations in the last week (2 of them *new* spots for sirens in town).

1. 81st/Mingo - old 3016 is gone, replaced.
2. 71st/Elwood - new 2910 directly across from an eye dr./vet office (not hooked up to electricity yet)
3. 81st/Union - new 2910, west of apartment complex built in last year. (Noted the pole was at a 5 degree angle - OK I guess for an omni-directional, but it looks like a severe gust will knock it down PDQ.)

#'s 2 and 3 are in the booming "Tulsa Hills" shopping area. Until these were installed, there was ZERO coverage in a heavily traveled area.

More to come as I see them in town.

Also - I had noticed the siren behind my house in Sand Springs was not rotating. I submitted a "help request" on the city's website, and to my surprise - they e-mailed back thanking me for alerting them to this. Then they e-mailed back a few days later confirming it was damaged and a work order had been submitted to repair it. That was in March. The projector is still facing NNE. :!:  :!: Good thing nothing has been tornado warned up here all year.

Cheers!

Glad to see 2 and 3 put in. I may record on Elwood some time. Right on the bike trail. 8)

I don't know if this is the city's, but I spotted a Hornet next to a 2805 at the airport. Anyone know about it? There is also a new 2910 at Owen elementary school.

Where is the 2805 located? If it's on the NE side of the airport, I'm going to bet that it may be part of the OK Air National Guard base.

I'm working on compiling a Tulsa area map. I've got all of the Sand Springs system tagged and there was someone else who had started a Tulsa County map - I have added it in and am working on the north and west sides of the city now. (edit - I **had** those done. Somehow they have disappeared. ) I'll add in the Owen 2910... and retrace my steps on the ones I lost.

It's on the NE, near a 2910 on Mingo. I bet ANG is replacing the 2800s on base. Actually, based on the control box, it's some kind of WPS, but the head is different-looking, like a Hornet. I'm going to go back soon to look again.

If you need some help with Tulsa metro, I got Owasso for you.

Is the 2910 at 44th St N & Mingo (that's the old Mingo School site.) Google earth shows an empty lot, with a 3016 on the NW corner of this intersection.

I'll take the Owasso map or locations if you have them ready.

Thanks!

Owasso sirens:

All are HPSS 32s. I took off the old Federals still standing since they are disconnected.

Went by the airport again. The new air guard siren is a WPS 2901.
