The CLM came from a surplus dealer in Saskatoon who got all of that city's sirens when they were decommissioned around 1995. Jiffy marker lettering on the top said "Pleasant Hill", so I would guess that was the area of the city it came from. I do not remember that site, but used to drive past the pole-and-platform mounted one that stood in a park near the "Greystone" area. He had one CLM left after I purchased mine, but never thought to ask how many he had to start with. The other type he had were omnidirectional, and looked like a stack of aluminium traffic cones. They were very "discreet" looking, and had been mounted inconspicuously in the down town area. Some of the golf courses were buying them to use as weather alert warnings as they were all single phase.
I was told the Model 2 came from a decommissioned military barracks in Calgary that became a low rental housing project.
The Denver came from a local scrap yard that purchased the old municipal warehouse where it had been stored. I think it may have originally been installed in the local fire hall, possibly in 1913. The motor may have been changed, as I doubt that there was 3 phase available here at that time.
What on earth are you going to do with THAT?
