Manchester resisted electronic sirens for quite a while keeping the two-tone air horns until recent times.

Nice to hear them again. They seem faster and slightly higher-pitched than the old ones.

Nor do they sound as powerful as the old ones, like that Greater Manchester Police, Ford Transit.

There is this video from 1981 of Peter Sutcliffe the Yorkshire Ripper under police convey by a pair over Metropolitan Police, Rover SD1s, the leading car has a very nice high pitched two-tone air horns, one can hear in the background another set of two-tones which are lower pitched.
