Oakridge, TN Allertronics replaced

Tue Jan 01, 2013 5:36 pm

My friend went up to Oakridge, TN recently and found out that the old Allertronics were replaced.

All but one of these pictures were taken by my friend.

The old sirens:
Here is a picture of the old sirens from the Siren Archive (not taken by my friend).

The new system is made-up of T-121s and a T-135.

Your T-128 is a T-135

Wow, that is quite an upgrade.

I always wondered how potent those old allertronics were. They sure managed to cram a lot of speakers in a small area.

I remember that thing. I Imagine they were there for a while and it probably was time for an upgrade. A T-135 seems way overkill. T-121s would have fit the bill and still been much louder than the old Allertronics. Thanks for the update.

Glad they stuck to the monster T-135s!

Pardon this bump but I found a page on the Y-12 news site(It reveals a lot):
