My US Siren Map

Tue Jun 25, 2013 12:51 pm

I have spent the last 5 months collecting Maps, Waymarks, Coordinates, Addresses, and Images/PDF's of as many siren systems i could find in the contiguous 48. I currently have 6,000+ locations, each state has at least 1 siren!

WOW! That map is huge! I have a worldwide Google Earth siren map on my computer without siren icons, but it is sure not as big as that and I have been collecting locations for 3 years now! Nice map!

EDIT: Did you get the ATI's at the World Trade Center in NYC?

Do you have the link? I would love to see that map on Google Earth.

You have a "?" next to DeKalb in the Chicagoland area sirens. You can get rid of it--you're right. DeKalb has a system of 2001s (mix of roundbacks and squarebacks with the thin cone). Though there's far more than 2 of them. I know of at least 7. Sycamore also has 2001s of a newer variety.

Here is what I've been able to collect as well. I tend to not use siren icons, but rather a color coded system (for easy reference, Thunderbolts are all yellow balloons). I also include video links in mine and try to include the hertz the siren plays as well, if there is a video of it. If I ever release it to the general public, I will try to get everyone's permission for their videos.

I just saw something that caught my eye, I was looking through the map and I see a T-121 System in Texas, I zoom down on one, and notice people installing it from bird view! The picture is crap, but it shows the truck installing it with an old P-15 next to it.

Here's mine. This really took off within the past few months or so. Mine have coverage circles around them.
