I've been by it before. If you look at the top, the 3 phase power wires have been cut, as have the blower motor junction wires. Also the bottom panel has been broken into by someone and exposed to the elements for several years now. In its current condition, even if power was applied it wouldn't function. Did you remove the blower cover? Last time I was there it was still on the blower, I opened it up to see inside but then closed it to protect it incase someone (Maybe even me if the city would let me) buys it and restores it. If the cover is still off when I go back to visit it, hopefully next weekend, I'll put it back on there, and try to find the cover to the lower RCM panel (It was laying on the ground) and reinstall it as well.

Cool! Yeah, the blower cover was off, I got a piece of the Sticker that fell off though. I noticed that too. I am searching google maps, because now i am really curious, if Eau Claire has any more hiding anywhere. This siren is kind of special to me, being the closest thunderbolt to my house, my moms house is a mile away from this, sort of near the Meadowview Elementary 2001 SRN. I bet they never took this down, is because it is a pain in the butt to get up there, so there is no freaking way they would get a crane up there to take it down. I did not see the RCM pannel, i did not think to look though. If you come here, i will be at my dads house, i think the possibility of a meet up is very slim, but if you take a look, you should take pictures. I was so happy being so close to this. I have seen this bolt for about 3 years now, and always wanted to go up there. My dad used to live in the apartments right below when he was in collage, said the siren apparently went off, but IDK about that.

UPDATE!
Here are some pics/seen locations from my recent trip to La Crosse.
First of all, here is the Allertor on the Fire Station in Indipendance, Wi. This is on Hwy 93
I was not able to get a clear picture of this.

Next was the 2001 SRN that you can see from 93 in Arcadia. I also failed to get a photo of this one.

Next is a 2001-130 in Holmen which i did get a picture of.

Then is a XT22 in Holmen, not far from the 130. In the picture it is very small, under the lower left corner of the yellow sign.

I also saw the new La Crosse 508, but I did not realize we were going to go past it until i saw the street sign, but did not have enough time to get my camera out.

Then, I saw and got photos of the City Hall 2001-SRNB

I also passed the George St & Hayes St SRNB, but it was dark out so I could not physically see it.

What's even cooler is that the Street View car actually captured two people from the city working on the siren's RCM panel. http://goo.gl/maps/C5kwH

Ha! Nice Catch! I was happy to see my first 508 siren today. I wasnt expecting to see it though as we would have normally taken george st all the way down to the YMCA, which was why we were in La Crosse, thus not seeing the 508 or the SRNB on City Hall. Sooo, I did not even think to remember that the 508 was in our path to the Y.

Here is the lastest bunch of siren photos from my journeys. I have chosen to leave a few pictures out because of my frequent pictures of them, including the white bear lake fire station thunderbolt 1003, still there as of christmas 2014
