Sparton siren questions.

Thu Jul 25, 2013 8:36 am

I have seen a vid on utube which had a comment about memories about a sparton siren dying.wavering pitch, burnt smell?, winding down for the last time. Anything?

That same person makes that comment on a bunch of youtube videos. He keeps saying it's a Sparks-Worthington or something. I've never heard of one.

Kind of off topic but I have found one in Chisolm MN on there city hall. Unfortunately, there was a 2001-DC next to it. These sirens also fascinate me a lot.

From what I heard, they're kinda like Model 2's. The housing looks just like a weird red cage of some kind. There's one in Sulphur, Oklahoma that I don't think is used because there is an STH-10 next to it. Sulpher also has a Darley STH-10 near a Sentry.
Kicking it in the siren party since '08

Apparently the one next to the STH-10 is a Sparton:

That Sparton is a little odd looking. But then again it does look a little like an omnidirectional Whelen. That Sparton must have been replaced a little while ago to see that the replacement is an STH-10.

Adam Pollak owns a Sparton. From what he said in one of his videos, it is basically a Model 2 with a weird housing.

Huh. :? If that's true, the housing is way bigger than the siren.
