That's the Sparton in Sulphur. The Sparton really isn't that big, but the picture makes it look like it is because it's closer to the camera than the STH is.

I'd say that's bigger than a model 2. I could see a W.S. Darley fitting in that thing

It's been a while since I posted the pics of the drawings but I have the ORIGINAL pencil on vellum drawings for that same siren in the pictures and some other SPARTON sirens. These drawings are absolute works of art. They are some of the best engineering drawings I have ever seen.
I have numerous part drawings but I don't think I have the complete set. It's been a while since I got them out and looked at them.
The dates on the drawings are in the 1940s if I remember correctly. And yes they are very Model 2ish.
Here's a pic of a copy of one of the drawings. This is a copy of assembly drawing labeled Model 38. The date is 1942 on the drawing.
I used the drawing copier up at work to make the copy. The copy shows up better on the pic than the original drawing. The overall height of the thing to the top of the lift
eye is 30.11 inches.

Once I get home from Minnesota, I can look for the picture of the Sparton. But it won't be the best of quality since it is in a scrap book.

No, Darian went and got that picture of the Sulphur one and told me where it was. I don't know where the other pic was taken.

I believe that the Sparton that was "Wavering and dying, burnt smell" (Or so as it was described as) Might be the old Sparton Model 39 that is on the old Sparks-Withington Factory in Jackson, MI. The property has suffered from at least two fires, in which both of them had melted the Sparton Model 39 on there. I'm just not sure of how it could go off during a fire. If you go there, all that you can see is the Mount, Exposed Motor, & the melted Lower Rotor. The rest is scattered about on the roof.

As for the Sparton in Sulphur, that is a Sparton Model 38, which obviously got replaced by the FS STH-10.

Then the third one I think is in a town called Eden in Wisconsin, & it is mounted atop an old meat market building in the downtown area.

This is all the information that I have gathered so far, but the kinds of sirens that I want to know the most about are the Sparton Sirens.

Here's streetview of the Eden, WI one. The building looks an awful lot like it was built as a fire station, and appears to be next to the meat market: https://maps.app.goo.gl/7PLhdFwGLPiC2kow5

That Model 39 didn't burn until last year, and it's now long beyond any sort of operational condition. Mind you, this thread is from 2013, 12 years ago. I don't think the siren they were describing was a Model 39.
