Need some tips with making a wooden siren

Thx, once I find a jigsaw and buy sheets of lumber and a motor I can start the project. I'm thinking about doing a 9/12 siren because I love the sound of the perfect fourth on the ACA cyclone and allertor.

One of the simplest siren designs that I have not yet seen built is a disc siren. Get a high-volume blower and channel the output into a tube. Mount a motor and a disc with a ring (or two) of evenly-spaced ports immediately in front of the tube opening. The tube opening serves as the stator, and if you wanted to get fancy, mount a projector in front of the disc.

I'm thinking about making a 7/10 tritone siren too since it's the scariest sounding one, great for halloween.

I might also make a 12/10 siren, what gives the 2T22 and castle castings its characteristic creepy sound? Is it the blades they use?

The 2T22 and the Carter have 2 separate rotors, one with 12 ports and the other with 10. This means they both get the same amount of air and are the same loudness, as opposed to single rotor 10/12 where one port side gets more air than the other.

I've been made 10/12 and 8 port wooden sirens and the 8 port is definatly the way to go if you want the sound to carry.

My idea to loud up your siren is to basically make a blower for it, just like a Thunderbolt. Like this. The blower pumps more air into the siren, which makes it louder. the nearly same concept is used on coding / solenoided sirens, such as the 3T22 and the Klaxon CS8. The solenoid shuts the air intake of the chopper, making the air getting inside the chopper less, thus nosediving the volume. So it all uses the concept of air. Make your siren capable to take more air as possible. (But still, so far, no one made his/her Thunderbolt equipped with two blowers, but if I owned one, I'll do so, put two blowers... )
