Agree 100%. This is one of several reasons why I locked this thread. As far as anyone knows, Federal never made a square horn STH10 siren.holler wrote:Those horns look like something a sheetmetal shop made. I highly doubt Federal ever sold that siren with square horns.
That's what I was thinking. If Federal Signal ever made them with square horns, then they would probably be better designed than that.holler wrote:Those horns look like something a sheetmetal shop made. I highly doubt Federal ever sold that siren with square horns.
That's most likely an older-model Federal Type B (the one with divided stator ports) with a custom cover over it.freebrickproductions wrote:http://www.ipernity.com/doc/286325/25007263
Found this while looking around online.
I don't believe any of those had horns did they? I always thought they were the same thing as a Mars siren. I believe the Federal Lion had horns though. I guess I don't know much about Federal's early yearsmurrfarms wrote:That's most likely an older-model Federal Type B (the one with divided stator ports) with a custom cover over it.freebrickproductions wrote:http://www.ipernity.com/doc/286325/25007263

That's the type of siren I'm referring to, the older Type B that everybody refers to as the "Lion". It had stators with nearly straight horns cast as part of them, with divided ports on each stator. The later B is the kind that Mars based their siren off of, with the sheet metal horn-like projectors and motor cover.Remingtoncountry wrote: I don't believe any of those had horns did they?
