Need to change receive freq on CD&F/maxon control board

Tue Aug 20, 2013 6:19 pm

we have a siren that is controlled by a CD&F control box. We need to change the frequency that it is set to receive on. It has a maxon interface board inside, but I do not have any idea on how to find or get software and hardware to be able to program to new freq? Any ideas?

There isn't much information on those types of controllers unfortunately. Your best bet would be purchase a new radio (or even a Minitor pager with amplified charger that has the relay output) and wire that in place of the radio.

What area are you located at?

Or take it to a radio shop and see if they can figure it out

The CD&F controller uses swappable components so it may just be plug and play.

Tried contacting CD&F?

thanks for help... I was informed CD&F went out of business.... and I haven't found much on the maxon interface.... I do have pager and pager box that I will try and wire siren to. We have another siren at different station that is wired using pager.

We are in the Brewster/Pateros/Bridgeport area of Central Washington State.

CD and F is still in business kind of new owner etc... They were the radio of choice for Sentry Siren products until 2008ish. Is the box light brown or light grey and maybe 20 inches tall and 14 inches wide antenna bolt on the top???? If I remember right the Maxon was a division of Midland... Is the siren for a community or just personal use???

thank you much!!! we are in Washington State. yes rec. only.... the other option is to bypass the CD&F box and wire in a pager to set it off....not sure. I would love to just be able to reprogram the maxon interface in the CD&F box . . . if possible......

How much are you wanting to change the receive frequency? If it's a whole different band, like switching 30-50 MHz to 150 to 172 MHz, you are likely not going to be able to do that. A few MHz is doable, but, is it crystal controlled, or, do you program the frequency?
