The voltage in France is 240v Thus I can use the siren at my home with me ?

France has a voltage of 230Y400, 50Hz (230v phase to neutral, 400v phase to phase). Not sure of the fuse sizing over there but it should work, at least for personal use.

The voltage on a electric cable is 230V , not 400. Thanks you ! Then I can run it ?

Standard European outlets all have 230v hot, neutral, and ground. They do not use two 120v lines out of phase as we do for 240v.

Thunderbird - the Model 2 is small enough that you could connect the siren to a heavy electric heater cord and plug it into a standard wall socket. It draws 12 amps. Remember that it will sound at a lower musical pitch because your electrical mains is 50 Hz.

Actually the model 2 will not have much of a pitch variation. Series wound motors aren't really affected by the difference in hertz unless it's a huge change.

No. Only induction motors are affected by hz.
