Sirens in Colorado

Thornton has nothing but an STL-10 on a fire station that is probably not used. The 3T22 is probably the previously mentioned one on the N. Washington Fire Station.

The West Pleasant View 2T22 was yellow. I don't think there is a video of it.

West Pleasant View (far west Colfax Ave) has a 2T22 that has been destroyed by something or other. I saw it once intact, and on street view it only has a couple of cones and is still standing.

It got hit by some strange looking "storm" called Robert Gift. But seriously though, he apparently owns that siren and is (or was) taking it down little by little. Notice here (August 2011) it's only missing a few cones off the bottom, but here (September 2012) it's now missing all but three of the cones and the top cover is missing. I still wonder how he's gotten up there each time so far to get what he's gotten down, and how they plan to get the actual siren core down eventually. That is one old 3T22 too, has an old three phase GE high-slip motor on it.

This actually makes me wonder if Federal made these repair mounts for thunderbolts, or if they were custom made. Schenectady's Thunderbolt 1000A has a similar mounting style:

AFAIK it is still in use, along with four other 15V2T's and 2 10V's.

So what about the STL-10 someone mentioned about and the Weld County Sentry Sirens?

I am not sure if the STL-10 is used or not. A few years ago after the huge tornado in Windsor, Weld County got a handful of sirens for communities. Platteville has one, Gilcrest has two, LaSalle has one. Evans has a Darley Champion on the east side fire station, and their west side fire station has a 16V1T-B. I'm pretty sure there are more.

* Gunnison, CO had a model 5, which was tested daily as a noon whistle until a couple years ago.
* Cant remember the name, but one mountain town had a 2t22 that did the same.
* Hugo, CO has two sentry 3V8-Hs and a SD10, that go off at noon and six pm daily.

Sourced from Baca County OEM Website, haven't had time to verify all models and locations...
* Springfield: Has a mix of sirens, mainly newer Sentrys
* Walsh: has Sentry sirens; two to three 3V8-Hs spread around town
* Vilas: One unknown siren
* Campo: at least one Sentry of some sort.
