Amazing Antique Store Find *Rare*

Mon Sep 16, 2013 12:36 am

Hey everyone,

Was out around Grand Bend, ON today and desided to stop off at a cool looking antique store. Went in and was amazed, it was like American Pickers, signs, pumps just really unique stuff for sale. As I do in every antique store, I look around for any potential sirens. I finished the main building and went out back to a shed type building and was blown away with what I saw when I turned the corner. A 20/24 port C.L.M siren just sitting there! I was kind of speechless because it was the only siren I have been looking to buy for awhile now and knew it be a challenge and there it was, no effort or anything. It is in perfect condition, no rust or anything but it's seized. The guy said it was his dads and he got it from the Grand Bend fire dept when he was a volunteer fire fighter. I'm guessing it was air raid because the Grand Bend dept has two very old model 2's next to the station. So i snatched it up and I'm 100% going to restore it, finally a siren that isn't covered in rust, full of holes or dented to hell. I'll post more pictures when I get the chance. It's a 220v, 3 phase model.

This is why I want to go to every antique store I can find. :P

It will be interesting (in a good way) seeing what this would look and (hopefully) sound like.

Neat. How many CLMs do you have? Also with double the ports, maybe a drill can spin that thing a full speed.

I have 4 CLMs, it's only a 1500 RPM so it should be easy to get full speed. I'm lucky I got a phase converter from my last CLM and can now use that one for this one.
