Here's something interesting from a recent update to my Virginia map. Two mysteries in the town of Brookneal - atop the same building.

As I said in your map thread, I think the smaller one's a Darley Champion and the Larger one's a Darley Model 5.

^Actually, I believe they're both Champions; the smaller one is a 2HP and the larger is a 5HP. A Darley Model 5 looks more like a fire hydrant and is nothing but a regular Model 5 in a different housing. Champions are kind of like upside-down versions of Model 2s and 5s.

It is a siren. Notice the power conduit at the bottom, the nameplate, and the shadow of the motor and stator.
