Small siren hunt 10/19/13

Sun Oct 20, 2013 3:14 am

I went up to Chattanooga, TN today to my aunt's new house so I was able to get some photos of a few* sirens on my way there.

First I saw the 2001-AC behind Gurley, AL's city hall. Location on Google Maps.

Next, I saw the Whelen 2803 at the Paint Rock, AL post office as we went by it. Location on Google Maps.

After that, I saw what I believe is a Whelen 2905 behind the Scottsboro High School. Location on Google Maps.

A little bit later, I stopped at the 2t22 behind the Hollywood, AL municipal building in Hollywood, AL and got a few pictures of it.

The last siren I saw was one of Chattanooga's two remaining Thunderbolts. This's the one that can be seen from I-24.

And that's all from today!

That's the Tbolt atop Mary Walker Towers. I've seen it hundreds of times. Don't know how many years the horn has been pointed towards I-24.

Where is the other remaining one? Someone told me that the Belvoir Pharmacy siren has been removed.

It's on the bank building at 7th and Market.

My friend found a Denver siren in Etowah, TN. I'm not sure if that's the one you're thinking of though.
