A Closer Look At ATIs

I stumbled across this video and found it very interesting.

Although you have to take some of their statements with a grain of salt, this still gives an idea of what ATI has in their horns and controls.

I could hug you right now. This was awesome. I still can't get over how simple the ATI cabinets are. Two boards. The control/1600 watt driver board and an aux. 1600 watt driver board for the 3200 watt models.

Some assembly required? ATI linked to another video of an installation in Chile on its YouTube channel and it showed the same thing--horns shipped individually that had to be installed to the mounting bracket by the customer. That confirms that.

Finally, definitely not an Atlas driver in there. I have a hunch that its a Kingstar driver but it didn't quite match up to anything they had pictured on their website.

It was. They are replacing perfectly good sirens! :thdown: WTF?!


Also, pause 4:58. Those two sirens were in a YouTube video together.... and the OLD SIREN was louder!

It sounds like the siren sound that they used in that was from my video of the Model 5 in Port St. Joe, FL. Compare the sound from that video to this one: :think:

From what I've heard, Nashville's system never failed once. Not a single siren failed. Then again ATI uses Motorola radios so that probably has a lot to do with it.

That's good, maybe they are getting better. Maybe using good radios are helping too. I'm just going by what I've seen on here about them sucking and being sued.

Well, you can't trust everything that everyone says on the Internet, you know. You have to do your own research as well for yourself.

New radios? As far as I know ATI has been using Motorola radios for a long time, if not since they started.

I know they are used on the San Francisco sirens.
