Shiny Model 5 restored.

Sun Nov 17, 2013 6:35 pm

I never posted anything before. And i guess I should actually post something useful and related to the website. Here is my 1960's Federal Sign & Signal Model 5 siren. I fully restored everything on it (except the eye bolt but i wont tell you guys that part). Go to this link, you can cycle through the photos there, they go in order by date taken.

Mighty fine job I like it.
My knowledge excels on the Federal Thunderbolt siren and SiraTone EOWS sirens. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Did you strip the paint by sandblasting the rotor and stator?

I had the rotor sandblasted, and I used a wire wheel for the stator since it was cast Iron.
