Sirens From All Across the Country (Picture Overload)

Wassup everybody. Right, so over the summer, my brother went on a cross-country trip out west to see some of the national parks (Yellowstone, Zion, etc.). Before he left I told him to watch out for sirens and take pictures whenever possible. What I have here are all the pictures he was able to get; I forgot to post them earlier. I have absolutely no idea where most of them were taken, so don't ask (though if you really want to know where a particular siren is, I can ask my brother and see if he remembers). There is quite an assortment though (with some rare models), so have fun looking through all the photos. Some of them might not be of the greatest quality though. They are listed in chronological order.

VERY nice! But here are some corrections :

The 2001-130 next to the Darley Model 2 is a 2001-SRN*B

The first 2001 picture is a fat coned 2001-DC

Yes, the 3016 is a 3016

The six celled Modulator is either a MOD-6024 or a 6048

The 2001 at the base of the sign tower is another SRN*B

The control boxes are indeed from a 2001, most likely an SRN but MAYBE a fat coned DC

That is indeed an Allertronic, an AL of some model

The "Another 2001 of some kind is probably an SRN*B, judging by the controls, but may be an updated fat coned DC

Judging by the position of the siren in relation to the power lines and trees in the second Eclipse picture, I'd say it's another one

The MOD-5020 is actually a 6024 or 6048

The ATI/E-Class setup is probably an E-CLASS, IMO

To the picture of the Alertronic you have in question, the model specifically would be a AL-6000, unless I'm mistaken. Is the top loose on the siren or is that a solar panel? I'm aware that the AL line could have a solar panel added to a station as part of their Optional Siren Equipment list.

4J25: Thanks for the corrections, but the second Modulator definitely has 5 cells. I counted three times just to make sure. Also, that 2001 next to the Darley sure looks like a 130 to me. (No other 2001 has that big an FS logo, right?)

Mysterious T-Bolt 111: I can't tell if that's a solar panel on the Allertronic or not. It doesn't look like one to me, but the picture isn't good enough to be sure.

Mysterious, you're right. AL-6000. And I concur, that's a solar panel.

I'm going to get gray hairs from saying this so many times. Batman is right...the first 2001 is a 2001-SRN. -AC/-DC indicates primary power source and is NOT the siren's name! The -SRN designation belongs to everything before the -SRNB.

Both photos labeled "Another 2001" are -SRNBs. You can tell from the cube rotator. The one next to the Darley is also a -SRNB. You can tell because the -130 has an elongated rear section that this one does not.

The second Mod has 5 cells and is a 5020. You're right, Batman.

The 3200-watt Kingstar horned siren above is an older ATI HPSS-32. ASC doesn't let their wires dangle like ATI does; they tie them up neatly into a junction box. Also, the mounting bracket is an ATI mounting bracket.

Now that that's out of the way, here's what I really came to say:

On the picture labeled "Control boxes from a 2001 (I believe)" (and yes, it is a mid to late 90's 2001 control), did anyone notice just how badly rotted through that pole is? That thing looks patently ready to snap apart (or at least, the controls to fall off). What an incredible safety hazard.

The OM-120 was battery powered, I think 72 VDC, and had 9 or 10 ports (I think).

There's a plant somewhere that has a system of these and some 8/12 port sirens, ASC T-135s or something like that. There was a fire at said plant and the sirens went off. Theres a video of it on YT; they sound like Model 2s.

That roundback looks to be from West Memphis, Arkansas. When were you there? That's literally 30 minutes from me.
