Looks like after the switch it go to relays "fire" one.. Might I ask, Have you moved the relays round see if that helps? You might have a bad relay? I have the book to download but saying "too large of file to attach"

Yes it could be a bad fire relay. When you press the test button on an AF timer it activates the fire signal as long as the button is depressed. But I don't have that much experience with AF timers, only AR timers.

Pull the third relay, look and see if the contacts have welded.

Ian has rebuilt a couple of AF's from scratch. Maybe he will pop in here and enlighten us.

All of the switches engage the relays in the timer except the test one.

Test does not engage any relay, it essentially shorts terminals 1 and 3 (look at the wiring diagram). Have you jumped the terminals at the switch and on the panel to see if that triggers your motor starter?

JasonC wrote:So is it just the test button that's not working? Sounds like a worn out button if that's the case (and no need for a multimeter at this stage). Jump the terminals behind the test button and see if that works. If not, jump terminals 1 & 3. BE CAREFUL when jumping as you are dealing with 120 & 240 volts!
