Hamilton Township Fire Division Model 5

Fri Jan 24, 2014 2:22 pm

I was driving to pick up a tractor yesterday, and slammed on the brakes when i saw this perched on top of the building!

This is the only model 5 close to Loveland! its in the center of old Mainville on top of the fire station. Ive never seen one mounted on a bell like this before and i would like to go ask for a growl test sometime soon if i can. I also saw a P15 on 131 but didnt snag a picture.

Here is the address...

69 W Foster Maineville Rd, Maineville, OH 45039

Looks pretty short for a Model 5. If I saw that, I would think it was a Model 3. Either way, get a recording sometime.

Definitely a Model 3. Louvers are the same diameter.

That's a 5, look at how big that housing is. The model 3 is a little bitty thing.

Really? Must be the camera angle then. Did 5s ever have same-size louvers?

It is the camera angle... The spot that it sets in is recessed a bit and it didnt look like there were 12 ports, it looked like 8-10. Im going to try to get a recording when i can!

Glad to see it's still there. I drove by there a few months ago but didn't see it, and of course there was too much traffic for me to stop and get a better look.
