Re: H.O.R. Si-Rex Comes Home

There used to be a video of a noon siren in some New England town (with a name like Massa-something) that was an upright 7/10 HOR. It might have been on the old Long Island Fire Siren site, and someone posted a closeup photo of a Model 5-like cover with four louvres.

Is there a photo of one with the louvers on it?

You are thinking of Massapequa, NY. Yes, They have a 7/10 H.O.R. Vertical.

That one is actually a late-model Decot 10:15 port siren, not a HOR. That thing does have a wicked mean sound to it though!

Here's a H.O.R. Siro-Drone with a Model 5 style housing that's still in service in Ohio.

Likewise, another one from Germany.

That one is a Federal Model 3, not a H.O.R. Siro-Drone. I don't know who the idiot is that told the video's OP that it's a H.O.R., but the smaller Siro-Drones look absolutely nothing like that, nor do they have a tag identical to those on Federal's products.

Some of those comments from the video:
Csx2748 (YouTube) wrote:It's a HOR sirodrone
Csx2748 (YouTube) wrote:The I.d. Tag goes on the bottom skirt on model 3s and model 3s don't have the cones soo close
Csx2748 (YouTube) wrote:Model 3s have bigger skirts/cones too.
I really hope that kid is not a member on here...
